a little goes a long way

i consider flower arrangements to be great works of art. and whosoever can conjure up such lovely bouquets is skillful, talented, and a master of design. it may not be the kind of design many are used to, but it takes a lot of creativity- a trait that is top of the charts when it comes to anything in the design world.
i worked at a film production company one summer in los angeles and had the task of doing next to everything- but one of the highlights was selecting our new professional floral arrangement that sat in the center of our main brainstorming space every week. that is how i know such things take great skill. i thought i possesed what seemed at the time to be such a measely talent, until i saw one arrangement whipped up in front of my face gorgeous enough to put picasso in his place, or at the very least, leave him wondering if he even possesed any artistic skill at all- obviously, i know he was a master at art, that is however, just the very comparison this florist deserved.
if i could splurge on one thing in my home, it would be fresh flower arrangements every week. flowers are the touch that rooms need to complete them, because they add even the smallest hint of life. and life itself is something that, though we make take it for granted, brings warmth. life brings a sense of inhabitance- a sense that something lives there, and we as humans are drawn to this and appreciate it, more than we may initially realize or acknowledge. they even have the power, with just enough color to complete white washed rooms. even a little color  in a room goes a long way. thats all it takes. i've squandered up some of my most favorite floral arrangements to share with you. all from, none of than my favorite inspirational website, oncewed.com. maybe you'll be inspired to treat your home with some sort of breathtaking arrangement more often now.
